A Letter From Our Founder

Welcome to Go Divorce Clinic (GDC), a digital Do-It-Yourself divorce platform created specifically for couples who want to end their marriage amicably, without the expense and adversity of a traditional courtroom battle.

We know these couples well. I've been helping them navigate uncontested divorces, face-to-face, for more than two decades.

When I founded GDC in 2008 specifically to serve these couples, I was told it would never work.

They said there weren't enough couples capable of managing their own divorce without attorneys. They said people who could afford professional assistance would always hire lawyers. They said only the simplest divorces could possibly be handled cooperatively.

And they said I'd be eaten alive trying to help both spouses navigate one of life's most emotionally difficult transitions.

I created GDC because, in my heart, I knew better.

Through my work as a mediator, I had seen firsthand that ordinary people, given the right structure, information, and support, were far more capable of navigating their own divorce than conventional wisdom gave them credit for.

And over the years, couple after couple proved that belief well founded.

When the Demand Outgrew the Practice

In fact, the greatest limitation we encountered wasn't a shortage of people who wanted to divorce cooperatively.

It was quite the opposite.

Over time, the demand for our services consistently exceeded what we could accommodate in person.

We had built something that not only worked, but also served a vast and largely overlooked population of people who needed exactly what we'd created.

The problem was that, working face-to-face, we could only help so many of them.

Building the Digital Go Divorce Clinic

We set out to create a digital version of the process we'd spent decades developing and refining —a comprehensive, guided DIY divorce platform that could bring the GDC experience to couples throughout California.

A thoughtfully designed process, built from the ground up, with a carefully structured workflow that reflects what we've learned from working directly with divorcing couples for 25 years.

Every stage was developed and programmed to make the process as clear, efficient, and manageable as an uncontested divorce can reasonably be.

And it works.

Our ambition was simple: to make what we'd created for our local community available to the many more couples who could benefit from it.
