Assisted Uncontested Divorce

Offered to Sonoma & Marin Counties Only

For couples in Sonoma County and Marin County who require professional process facilitation and mediation support—but still wish to avoid attorneys, court hearings, and adversarial divorce—Go Divorce Clinic offers on a limited basis, an Assisted Uncontested Divorce option. We live in and have served the California North Bay area for 20 years.

This service combines the structure and clarity of the GDC shared online portal with hands-on local support, mediation assistance, process services and all necessary document preparation for court filing handled for you entirely by GDC. Because we do not farm these services out to third parties, we can only handle a limited volume of requests for Assisted Divorces. You may inquire with GDC to determine if this level of service is available at the time you are needing to begin your divorce.

What Is an Assisted Divorce?

Our Assisted Divorce service is designed for cooperating couples who want guidance and relief from the procedural and logistical burden of the divorce process, while maintaining control over their decisions. GDC Assisted divorce is an extension of our basic DIY Divorce. You and your spouse will still work together through the shared GDC Portal dashboard, but GDC will step in to handle the “legwork” parts of the process you arrange for: Filing, process of service for summons and declarations, printing of all documents and required postage, organizing paperwork and judgment submission. Unlike the Go Divorce Clinic Self-Serve option, All GDC Assisted Divorce services are subject to caseload availability.

This is not litigation.

This is not hourly billing.

This is not attorney representation.

This is a guided, supported, full-service premium uncontested divorce process offered for a flat fee (sliding scale)—handled the same proven GDC way we have processed divorces for 20 years.

How the Assisted Process Works

You and your spouse will:

  • Contact GDC to get an evaluation and flat-fee quote for your divorce and make payment
  • Register together and individually access the GDC shared online portal dashboard
  • Provide all the information required about your estate (and children) at your own pace
  • Make all division, support (custody) decisions jointly regarding your divorce terms
  • Use the same step-by-step guided workflow as our DIY clients
  • Enjoy the communication facilitation and mediation you contracted for with GDC

Go Divorce Clinic will:

  • File all required paperwork with the court
  • Serve documents properly and legally and file proof of service with the court
  • Prepare and file the final judgment
  • Provide mediation support if questions or disagreements arise
  • Facilitate communication with you both through the process to completion

You still control the outcomes; all GDC facilitation is neutral. We handle the logistics and provide professional support as described when needed.

Mediation Support Included

As part of the Assisted Divorce service, along with facilitated communication, formal mediation support is also available if you and your spouse need help reaching agreement on any issue.

This may include assistance in finding resolution and accord with:

  • Property and debt division
  • Parenting plans and custody schedules
  • Child or spousal support discussions
  • More complex circumstances (without giving legal advice)

Our role is to support cooperation, not take sides or give legal counsel or strategy.

Flat Fee, Sliding Scale Pricing

The Assisted Divorce service is offered as a flat fee, not an hourly rate or retainer.

Fees are determined using a sliding scale, based on:

  • The overall complexity of the case
  • Whether children are involved
  • The scope of assets and debts
  • The level of mediation support required
  • The level of detail the couple is wanting when stipulating matters
  • The financial landscape around retirement packages

The flat fee allows us to provide to you GDC in-person services without hidden fees or escalating costs. A personalized quote is provided before services begin.

Who This Service Is For

This option is ideal if:

  • You and your spouse are uncontested and willing to cooperate
  • You want professional personal assistance but not attorneys
  • You prefer not to handle court filings or process of service tasks yourself
  • You want help communicating with each other or mediation support available if needed
  • You want help understanding the overall divorce process
  • You live in Sonoma County or Marin County

Who The GDC Assisted Divorce Service Is Not For

This GDC Assisted Divorce Service is not appropriate if:

  • One spouse refuses to participate or cooperate
  • There is domestic violence, coercion, or active restraining orders between the Parties
  • The divorce is contested or adversarial
  • One or both parties are represented by attorneys
  • Your divorce case has already been filed with the Court
  • The Department of Child Support Services has a registered case with the couple’s minor child(ren)

Why GDC’s Assisted Divorce Is Different

  • Nearly two decades of specializing in uncontested divorce services
  • Designed specifically for cooperating couples only
  • Local, personal service—no call centers or chatbots or third-party agents
  • One shared dashboard keeps both spouses aligned and in step
  • A process built to actually get you through to a finished divorce

This is the Self-Represented GDC Portal process—with more hands-on support.
